MP Government Awards ₹25,000 to Students Scoring 75% Above

To encourage students performing academically well, the Madhya Pradesh government has transferred money to students who have scored 75% and above in the class 12 examination, to purchase laptops.

The class 12 pass percentage in MP stood at 68 %, with student Shivani Pawar obtaining  the first rank for Arts, Ayushi Dhengula from Commerce and Lalit Panchauri from science.

At a function, CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced the scheme by transferring ₹25,000 to each of the 22,035 students present there. A state public official said that more than 88,000 students who achieved 75% above in class 12 examinations are eligible for the scheme. “Students can purchase laptops of their own choice with the encouragement money of Rs 25,000 and can create a new world of knowledge,” said CM Chouhan.

He further added, “I am the happiest when surrounded by children. Distribution of laptops was an excuse to meet the children of my state. There is nothing we cannot achieve. However, there is a necessity to fix a goal and pledge to work towards it. We always need to aim high.”

Under the Pratibhashali Vidyarthu Protsahan Yojana (PVPY), the government provides money for purchasing laptops to ‘meritorious’ students, which includes students scoring 85% and above in the class 12 exams, for purchasing laptops. The scheme is only applicable to those candidates who have passed the class 12th examination conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Examination.
